4/1 – Cape Canaveral’s Founder’s Day Celebration, Manatee Sanctuary Park: The event kicks off with the Cape Canaveral VFW presenting the colors, paired with the Church of Our Savior’s choir performing the National Anthem. There will be an award ceremony for advisory board members. Cape Canaveral was incorporated in 1963 and has evolved and grown significantly since then. 4/1 to 4/2 – Melbourne Air & Space Show, Orlando-Melbourne International Airport: The Space Coast’s largest and most popular air and space show returns this year at the Melbourne International Airport. 4/1 – Rehab Vintage Outdoor Market, Rehab Vintage Market: Guest Vendors will set up shop around Rehab Vintage’s store to sell unique treasures. The shop is also packed with rooms full of treasures waiting to be found. New vendors means new junk. Bring family and friends along! 10 AM – 4 PM, 1442 N Harbor City Blvd, Melbourne
4/2 – Jazz at The Avenue: a musical and fun-filled afternoon featuring food and drink specials by select restaurants and bars in The Avenue Viera. This week see Paul Beach, Smooth Jazz Celestialization. 12 PM – 3 PM, 2261 Town Center Ave Ste 113, Melbourne
4/1 – The Village Has Lost Its Idiot 3rd Annual 5K, Village Idiot Pub: Run around this idiot-proof course exploring Cocoa Village. Start and finish at the Village Idiot Pub in Cocoa Village. There will be a special craft beer waiting at the end of the course (for those 21+, of course) and craft soda for those under 21. The challenge is to find the Village Idiot, and if you wear something true to the theme, you could win an awesome prize. A portion of the proceeds goes toward Children’s Hunger Project, a local charity that benefits children in need. 7 PM – 12 AM, 4 Harrison St, Ste 103, Cocoa
4/1 – ‘Wild About Wildlife’ All-You-Can-Eat Seafood Fundraiser at Wild Ocean: Fill up your stomach to benefit a great cause! Dixie Crossroads’ chef Laurilee Thompson and culinary students from Cocoa High School will serve up all-you-can-eat seafood for the Wild About Wildlife benefit at Wild Ocean Market. Tickets include admission, all-you-can-eat seafood and barbecue (for the land-lovers), live music, live animals, and a live auction.
