Venue Bio:
To rescue horses and provide equine assisted therapy, HorseSisters began as a dream in 1998. We have been rescuing horses in need since then and specialize in the Draft breeds - Clydesdales, Percherons, Belgians, and Premarin mares and foals, or PMU horses, like Nick, Raydar, Raven and June. We've also adopted many rescued horses into wonderful homes - some to families with disabled riders. If a rescued or donated horse can no longer work in our therapeutic programs, we attempt to adopt them out, for a fair and reasonable donation, into carefully screened homes. We also help owners place horses they must sadly give up. Currently, we are at our limit. We do have some foster homes helping us and are always looking for more.

With faith and funds from Parrish Medical Foundation and the Brevard County School Board, our dreams came true. Clairese, working with horses since 1968, continues to teach families life skills using each of our 23 therapy horses and has a permanent future with horses and people. Times change, as can OUR locations, but WE PROMISE TO ALWAYS care for the horses donated to us, no matter what, and our message stays the same.

We honor everyone...four-leggeds, two-leggeds and all creations, as we are all related.

Our Motto

HorseSisters believe the horse is an exceptional partner in assisting everyone in need of enhancing their minds and bodies by giving a sense of independence, movement, mobility and enjoyment.

Our Mission Statement
With finely trained volunteers, we promise to rescue neglected, abused and unwanted horses and provide them sanctuary through rehabilitation, retraining and then adoption, for some, to approved homes. We strive to educate the public about the special link between rescued horses and the dignified treatment of all children and adults with emotional, behavioral, social, mental, physical and/or spiritual needs. As humans help the horses, the horses help humans.
