31st Annual NKF Rich Salick Pro-Am Surf Festival on Labor Day Weekend

Whether you’re visiting town or have lived on the Space Coast for years, you know that the Annual NKF Rich Salick Pro-Am Surf Festival is an epic weekend of entertainment, surfing and fun to benefit a good cause.

The largest surfing charity competition in the world is returning to the Cocoa Beach Pier on Labor Day weekend, September 2-5.

The 31st Annual NKF Rich Salick Pro-Am Surf Festival features professional and amateur surfing competitions, stand up paddleboards and tandem competitions, skateboarding, live entertainment and fun for the whole family.

People from all over the country travel to the Space Coast for the world-renowned NKF Rich Salick Pro-Am Surf Festival because of its awesome vendors, talented surfers and unique entertainment. This isn’t your typical surfing competition.

The NKF Rich Salick Pro-Am Surf Festival is the largest charitable surfing festival in the world, and has been making waves for the National Kidney Foundation for 31 years. The first NKF Surf Festival raised a total of $131, and over the past 30 years the festival has raised over $4 million for kidney patients in Florida.

All proceeds from the Surf Festival go to the National Kidney Foundation of Florida to support the prevention, awareness and treatment of kidney diseases for patients and their families.

Schedule of Events:

(All events are located at the Westgate Cocoa Beach Pier unless otherwise specified)

Thursday, September 1

6 p.m. to 9 p.m. – VIP, Sponsor and Press Party

Located at Fishlips Waterfront Bar & Grill and The Wyland Gallery. All sponsors, VIP guests, and press are welcome. Press can pick up their press packs.

Friday, September 2

6 p.m. to 10 p.m. – Registration Party at Keith’s Oyster Bar

Competitors and spectators welcome. Registration opens for all competitors until 8:00 pm.

Saturday, September 3

7 a.m. – Beach registrations

8 a.m. – Pro-Am Surfing Competition begins

9 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Ron Jon School of Surf open to the public

12 p.m. to 1 p.m. – Tandem Surfing Competition on the Main Stage Area

6 p.m. to 9 p.m. – Hawaiian Night and Surf Movie on the Main Stage

Traditional Hawaiian Luau Performance and Pig Roast followed by a Surf Movie on the main stage. Tickets are $10 and include food.

Sunday, September 4

7:15 a.m. – Non-Denominational Church Service on the beach by Christian Surfers

8 a.m. – Pro-Am Surfing Competition continues

Quarter, semifinals, semi-mains will take place.

9 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Ron on School of Surf open to the public

12 p.m. to 1 p.m. – Tandem Surf Competition

6 p.m. to 10 p.m. – Taste of Brevard and Silent Auction at Radisson Resort

“Cocoa Beach’s Tropical Party of the Year” Sample foods from over 20 of Brevard’s finest restaurants, bid on over 500 auction items, and enjoy great music. Admission: $35 at the door.

Monday, September 5

9 a.m. – Pro-Am Surfing Competition FInals

9 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Ron Jon School of Surf open to the public

2 p.m. – Professional Awards Ceremony (tentative time)

5 p.m. – Amateur Awards Ceremony (tentative time)
