Art and Algorithms, a festival celebrating digital art and media from all over the world, begins this week, January 31 – February 5. Set your calendars to discover digital artists at Art and Algorithms in downtown Titusville.
The 6-day festival begins with international film screenings exclusively for the first three days. There are a ton of interesting presentations and exhibits to explore at Art and Algorithms, including the Augmented Reality Sandbox. Using Xbox Kinect sensors to detect the topographical layout of sand, the user is able to create rivers, mountains, and valleys with their hands. Visitors can immerse themselves in the ‘Arboria’ exhibit to experience a beautiful pairing of light and sound.
‘Arboria’ is the brainchild of Architects of Air, a traveling group that displays luminariums across the world. Architects of Air’s luminariums are “a dazzling maze of winding paths and soaring domes where Islamic architecture, Archimedean solids, and Gothic cathedrals meld into an inspiring monument to the beauty of light and color,” according to AOA’s website. Entry to the exhibit is $6.
February 2 – 5 will feature film screenings as well as the following:
