Beer lovers rejoiced Saturday as the 2011 Manatee Beer Fest got under way. Coco Locos, a band from Cocoa Beach, entertained the smiling faces as vendors lined up at the Space Coast Stadium to hand out samples of their favorite brews. The crowd was eager to try them all; from ales to lagers, lagers to stouts - and back again! I stopped to speak with Darren Longmuir, from Carroll Distributing. He came to the Beer Fest to show off a few brews from The Victory Brewing Company. Their specialty beers cater to the hops lover, and there were many in attendance! For me though, the ice-cold, effervescent Raspberry Ale from Shock Top made my day! I can’t wait to see what they have for us next year!
