We all love some good Mexican food but sometimes it can be hard to find a Mexican restaurant to satisfy our burrito cravings. From Tex-Mex to authentic Mexican cuisine, Brevard isn’t bound by any particular traditions when it comes to Mexican food, so you’ll find a wide-variety of tasty fillings and dishes. Here’s our guide to the best Mexican restaurants in Brevard.
If you’re looking for authentic Mexican cuisine, this is your place. The food is colorful, fresh and absolutely delicious. Located in the Publix Plaza, near the Cocoa Beach Pier, Mexico’s Grill is serving up homemade dishes with 100-year-old recipes. Oh yeah, did we mention they make fresh corn tortillas daily? Mexico’s Grill is also making homemade red and green sauces that are made with tomatoes, jalapenos, dried chiles, special sent from Mexico. One reason why so many of the locals love Mexico’s Grill is for their street
tacos. Choose from different types of meat, such as chicken, carnitas, steak, shrimp and fish. Top it with cilantro, radishes, pico de gallo or cabbage and wrap it in a warm corn tortilla. On Taco Tuesday at Mexico’s Grill you can get any taco for $1.50 all day! This is a no-brainer.
Azteca II Mexican Restaurant
Tucked inside The Resort on Cocoa Beach, Azteca II Mexican Restaurant is Cocoa Beach’s hidden gem. Not only can you get pitchers of margaritas (yes, pitchers), but you can order a wide-variety of Mexican dishes for awesome prices. Azteca II takes their time when it comes to cooking delicious food. They’re making fresh dishes daily, seasoned and cooked to perfection. From the carnitas and steak to chicken and fish, you can’t go wrong with the food at Azteca II. If you’re a guacamole lover, you’ve come to the right place. Nibble on (or totally binge on) some chips and guac before dinner, and then order the Flautas con Guacamole, which is basically two deep-fried tacos smothered in delicious guac with a side of rice and beans.
El Tucan, located in Merritt Island, is serving up some seriously flavorful dishes. This casual restaurant is the perfect place to go if you want to sip on an amazing margarita at the bar, or sit down and have dinner with the family. The staff will make sure your visit is as pleasant as possible. One of our favorites on the menu is the Pineapple Chicken entrée (or you can get shrimp): bite-sized pieces of juicy chicken that has been sautéed with onions, bell peppers, pineapple and El Tucan’s sweet and sour sauce. If you’re in the mood for an epic burrito try the Burritos Empanadas: two fried burritos filled with melted cheese, onions, tomatoes and jalapenos served with guacamole and sour cream. Choose from ground beef, chicken or pulled pork.
La Placita #3
Before the owners of Mexico’s Grill opened up their restaurant in Cocoa Beach, they were managing at La Placita #3 in Cocoa. There are no taquerias in Brevard quite as authentic as La Placita #3. Making everything from scratch, this taqueria is raising the bar when it comes to authentic Mexican food. If you’re familiar with what real Mexican food is, you’ll be relieved to have found the real thing again. Order at the counter and choose from tacos, burritos, tamales and more. If you’re a taco aficionado (like we are over at BrevardNightLife.com) try the carne asada or carnitas tacos topped with onion, cilantro and a squeeze of fresh lime. The tacos are simple, yet bursting with flavor. Welcome to your new favorite Mexican restaurant.
La Marimba Cocina Mexicana
Known for having the best Mexican food in Titusville, La Marimba Cocina Mexicana never disappoints. Guests can expect delicious food, tasty margaritas and friendly service every time they visit La Marimba. If you’ve never been to La Marimba, you have to order the award-winning Nachos la Bamba; loaded with refried or black beans, guacamole, sour cream, tomatoes, onions and melted cheese, with your choice of ground beef, chicken, chorizo or picadillo. You also can’t go wrong with the carnitas tacos or chile relleno. Order a margarita for the full experience.
How can you not instantly love a place named ‘Taco City’?! Locals will tell you over and over again that Taco City is one of their favorite Mexican restaurants in Brevard. It’s the perfect place to go for a cold beer and a snack after the beach, or for dinner with your friends and family. This Tex-Mex restaurant has been making a name for itself on the Space Coast for over 30 years. Locals travel near and far just for a bite of their chicken chings and tacos. A house favorite, the chicken chings are filled with seasoned and shredded chicken, rolled into a flaky pastry and served with scoop of guacamole on top. Almost all of the meals at Taco City are under $10 and well worth it. The atmosphere is laidback, bringing you good vibes and good food. It doesn’t get much better than that.
