Free Wyclef Jean Concert at FIT Homecoming in Downtown Melbourne

World-renowned hip-hop star, Wyclef Jean, is set to perform a free concert in downtown Melbourne during Florida Institute of Technology’s 2016 Homecoming Festival on Oct. 14.

Wyclef Jean, founding member of the iconic hip-hop group The Fugees, is headlining the free outdoor concert on New Haven Avenue. The show will begin around 6 p.m. and go till around to midnight. Opening acts for the concert include The Shadowboxers and Boxelder.

The iconic Grammy winning artist, Jean, has worked with some of the world’s greatest musicians including Michael Jackson, Black Eyed Peas, Bono, Mick Jagger and Kenny Rogers.

According to an interview with Florida Today, “Robert Deuterman, the promoter, labeled the free show by such a talent in Brevard County a “very rare” event.”

Along with live music, the festival will feature street vendors, and food and drinks from local businesses. The concert is free and open to the public. No ticket is required. Parking will be available in designated spots in Downtown Melbourne; there may be a parking fee.

After the concert, continue the party! There are numerous unique and trendy bars, restaurants and clubs in Downtown Melbourne that keep the locals always coming back for more. Local favorites in Downtown Melbourne include Meg O’ Malley’s, Mainstreet Pub and Off the Traxx.
