Ahh, December – wait, it’s already December?! Now that Thanksgiving has passed, it’s time to focus on the most wonderful time of the year: Christmas! The Space Coast is a great place to be during the holidays, with Christmas parades, winter festivals, holiday pub crawls and so much more. Here’s our guide on the best holiday events in Brevard County.
12/2 – Krampus Holiday Pub Crawl
Starts at 7 p.m. in downtown Melbourne. Pub crawl travels to Bar Refuge, Iron Oak Post, Chumley’s Depot, Matt’s Casbah, PC Keats and Debauchery. Tickets are $18 in advance and $25 at the door. For more info visit http://madhatterpromotions.com
12/2 – Let it Snow Downtown Street Party in Titusville
Enjoy live music and dance performances, arts and crafts and more. Food vendors and food trucks will line the streets. Donations of new, unwrapped toys would be much appreciated. The party starts at 5 p.m.
12/1-1/1 – The Space Coast Lightfest in Wickham Park
Open 6:30-10:30 p.m. every night, including the holidays. More than 2.7 million twinkling holiday lights ignite the sky, transforming Wickham Park into a winter wonderland. The highlight of the park is the 200-foot “Light Tunnel,” illuminated by 30,000 dazzling holiday lights. Tickets can be purchased on www.spacecoastlightfest.com/tickets/
12/2-24 – Lights of Hope Outdoor Christmas Lights Festival
Every weekend from Dec. 2 to Dec. 24, from 6:30-9:30 p.m., the Lights of Hope outdoor Christmas lights festival will light up Sand Point Park. The festival includes 30,000 sq. ft. of professional light displays. There will be weekly scheduled live entertainment, visits from Santa, hayrides, food and more. Tickets are $6 per person.
12/3 – 1st Annual Winter Festival in Cocoa Beach
The Winter Festival will have a Christmas train for the kids, crafts, music, stilt walkers, vendors, Santa Claus, real snow and more. Admission is free, and the event begins at 5 p.m.
12/10 – Reindeer Run/Walk 5K at Cherie Down Park
The 5K begins at 8 a.m. The award ceremony begins at 9:15 a.m., with door prizes at 9:45 a.m. To register please visit runsignup.com/Race/FL/CapeCanaveral/
12/10 – Cocoa Beach Christmas Street Parade
Come out to one of Cocoa Beach’s favorite traditions and get festive. The parade starts at 1 p.m. at the old Glass Bank and will head south on A1A.
12/10 – The Titusville Christmas Parade
Enjoy festive floats, decorations, costumes, entertainment and more at the Titusville Christmas Parade. The parade starts at 6 p.m. The theme for this year is “Old Fashioned Christmas.”
12/10 – Cocoa Beach Christmas Boat Parade
A unique holiday tradition on the Space Coast, the Cocoa Beach Christmas Boat Parade will include number decorated boats sailing down the Banana River for everyone to see. The parade starts on the south side of S520, and runs south through the residential canals. The parade starts at 6 p.m.
12/10 – Santa Stumble Pub Crawl in Cocoa Village
Beginning at 7 p.m., at Norman’s Raw Bar & Grill. Wear your best holiday attire; Santa, Mrs. Claus, Frosty, etc. Pub crawl travels to Norman’s, Village Idiot, Ryan’s, Dog N Bone and Murdock’s. 12/17 – Skydiving Santas at the Cocoa Beach Pier
Santa will be flying without the help of his reindeer on Saturday, as the Cocoa Beach Pier will be home to the ultimate fantasy skydive demo – the Skydiving Santas! A unique holiday celebration and fun for all ages, the Skydiving Santas event is free to the public and takes place from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
12/17 & 18 – Winter Wonderland Weekend in Titusville
A weekend full of real snow days, more snow and bigger ice slides. Tickets are $10 a day, which includes admission to the Lights of Hope Festival. Event is 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
12/24 – Surfing Santas in Cocoa Beach
A world-famous holiday tradition, hundreds of Surfing Santas in Cocoa Beach will be surfing and skydiving. Over 6,000 guests are expected to attend. Wear a holiday-themed costume for the costume contest, and for a chance to win prizes. The event starts at 8 a.m. and admission is free. Surfing Santas will be on the beach at the end of Minutemen Causeway.
