Serving Traditional Dishes at the Pig & Whistle British Pub

Downtown Cocoa Beach has a wide variety of restaurants that are serving up tasty meals like pizza, sandwiches, wraps, seafood and much more, but none of them are quite like the meals from the Pig & Whistle British Pub. Whipping up classics such as sausage and chips and shepherd’s pie, the Pig & Whistle British Pub has become a Cocoa Beach culinary destination.

The Collett family, owners of the Pig & Whistle, moved to Cocoa Beach from Ascot England in 1981 and opened the Pig & Whistle in 1985. In 2007 the Collett family moved the restaurant to its current location in the heart of Cocoa Beach. A mixture of the convenient location, friendly staff, delicious food and drink specials keep the locals and tourists coming back for more.

The restaurant features classic pub décor with wooden furniture, and brings customers authentic warmth you would expect from a real British pub. The establishment has a fun and cozy vibe that makes guests feel right at home. Although the atmosphere is welcoming, most people are focused on the food.

Any hearty comfort food you can think of, the Pig & Whistle probably has it: shepherd’s pie, pot pie, sausage and chips and roast beef sandwiches to name a few. The menu at Pig & Whistle features tasty and fairly priced meals that go well with beverages they are serving at the bar. Don’t forget this is also a British Pub. Order a drink from their full-liquor bar or one of the many draughts and bottles, which include British favorites such as Newcastle, Samuel Smith’s and Strongbow.

Some of the local’s favorite item on the menu is the shepherd’s pie. This adored shepherd’s pie is filled with savory ground beef, topped with their homemade creamy mashed potatoes and sprinkled with cheddar cheese and then over baked to a pie perfection. Another favorite on the menu is the sausage and chips, which consists of homemade English pork sausage, served with a fresh garden salad or crispy French fries.

Other popular items on the menu include the haddock and chips, the fish sandwich (regular or Cajun style) and the shrimp basket. On Monday’s the shepherd’s pie is discounted down to $5.95 and on Tuesday the haddock and chips are only $9.95. The Pig & Whistle changes their food specials weekly and there are usually four to six additional food specials every day. Happy hour is Monday through Friday from 10-11 a.m. and 4 to 7 p.m.
