You have to admit that everyone loves a good Sunday Funday in Brevard. Visitors from all over Central Florida travel to celebrate Sunday Funday here on the Space Coast. A typical Sunday Funday in Brevard consists of brunch, Bloody Marys, bike rides and bar hopping. You know what they say; “a Sunday well spent brings a week of content.” Whether you want to kick it on the beach or enjoy live music, here is your guide to having the most epic Sunday Funday in Brevard.
Sunday Funday in Port Canaveral
All great Sunday Fundays begin with brunch. Port Canaveral offers some of the best brunches in Brevard, whether you’re in the mood for eggs benedicts and Bloody Marys or French toast and mimosas. Fishlips Waterfront Bar & Grill has an amazing Sunday mimosa brunch. The menu has everything from shrimp and grits and smoked salmon potato pancakes to crab cakes benedict and seafood omelets. Did we mention you get free mimosas at Fishlips’ brunch? That’s right; free mimosas! This is a no brainer.
Grills Seafood Deck & Tiki Bar is loved by the locals for their epic breakfast. From 7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., guests can enjoy their breakfast on the deck, overlooking the water. If you’re craving something sweet for breakfast you have to try the Bahama cranberry nut bread French toast or the cinnamon roll slam. The fisherman’s favorite breakfast at Grills is the shotgun start, which is two eggs, two pancakes, two pieces of bacon, sausage or ham steak, with your choice of hash browns, home fries or grits, plus an English muffin or biscuit ($7.99). Stick around after breakfast if you want to get a little wild. Grills Seafood Deck & Tiki Bar usually has a live band on the deck.
After grubbing out on some delicious food, walk over to Rusty’s Seafood and Oyster Bar or Milliken’s Reef for some margaritas and amazing views of the water. You’ll always have an adventure while in Port Canaveral on Sunday Funday.
Sunday Funday in Cocoa Beach
Cocoa Beach has some of the best Sunday Funday spots in Florida, including Coconuts on the Beach. Recognized for being one of the top 10 beach bars in the country, Coconuts on the Beach is the ultimate Sunday Funday destination. Located directly on the beach, Coconuts has indoor seating, a covered outside bar and a newly renovated outside deck and tiki bar. If you’re in the mood for a wild Sunday Funday, Coconuts is the spot for you. You can hang out at the bar or bring your drink down on the beach (no glass though please).
The other popular Sunday Funday spots in Cocoa Beach are Hunkerdown Hideaway and Beach Shack, located directly next to and behind Coconuts on the Beach. Head over to Hunkerdown Hideaway and catch their Bloody Mary and mimosa bar until 2 p.m. The locals will tell you this is the spot for the best Bloody Marys. After finishing your Bloody Marys, grab your crew and head over to Beach Shack. They always have great drink specials. If you’re in Cocoa Beach on Sunday Funday then Coconuts, Hunkerdown and Beach Shack are a must. Some even call this the “Barmuda Triangle.”
If you’re still in Sunday Funday mode when the sun sets, head over to Sandbar Sports Grill for their “Sandbooze Sundays.” Every Sunday night they have a live DJ, beer pong, $3 fireball shots, $3 Jager bombs, $2 Miller Lite and Coors Light drafts and $1 hurricane shots. This is the go-to spot on Sunday nights.
Sunday Funday in Melbourne
Compared to other bars and restaurants on the Space Coast, Sunday Funday in Melbourne tends to be more laidback and family oriented. Every Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Matt’s Casbah, in downtown Melbourne, hosts their Sunday brunch. The beautiful Florida weather and some of the most innovative chefs in town make brunch at Matt’s Casbah a great option any time of year.
