Where to Watch the Christmas Boat Parades in Brevard


It’s that time of year again, and Christmas in Florida means ’tis the season to decorate our boats in holiday decorations and lights. There’s no better way to get in the holiday spirit than watching the beautiful Christmas lights gleam off of the water.

Each year around Christmas, the annual Christmas Boat Parades set sail all around Brevard. Those participating in the parade bring out their top Christmas decorations and decorate their boats from top to bottom.

ChristmasBoatParadesinBrevard1The Christmas boat parades in Brevard have been a holiday tradition for years, and it is one of the most celebrated events in the county. Each year, boaters change their decorations and get even more creative with decorating. The boat parades can be watched from Port Canaveral, Cocoa Beach, Satellite Beach and other locations in Brevard.

This year’s Cocoa Beach Christmas Boat Parade will be on Dec. 12, beginning at 6 p.m. The boats start to light up around 5:45 p.m. on the south side of 520.

Boaters interested in participating in the Cocoa Beach Christmas Boat Parade must attend the Captain’s meeting on Dec. 2 at 7:00 p.m. at the Cocoa Beach Country Club. If you have any questions please call (321) 783-1207 or email

ChristmasBoatParadesinBrevardThe Port Canaveral Boat Parade will be on Friday, Dec. 18, beginning at 7 p.m. The parade is best viewed from any of Port Canaveral’s waterfront restaurants or at Jetty Park. This free event is the perfect opportunity to take the family out for a night filled with holiday spirit. There will be cash prizes for those who have the best holiday decorations and all boats will receive a gift basket of up to a $200 value. If boaters are interested in sailing in the Port Canaveral Boat Parade they must attend preregistration on Dec. 14 through Dec. 17, at Fishlips Waterfront Bar and Grill and bring an unwrapped toy as their registration fee.

ChristmasBoatParadesinBrevard2The Merritt Island Christmas Boat Parade will be on Dec. 19, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Locals usually enjoy watching this boat parade from their docks or Kiwanis Island. No matter if you’re having your own Christmas party at your home or going out to watch the parade, this is the perfect holiday event that is enjoyed by the whole family. There are prizes for different categories of decorations and you must be registered to be entered in the judging, but you don’t have to participate in the contest. ChristmasBoatParadesinBrevard4The Grand Canal Holiday Boat Parade in Satellite Beach will be on Dec. 19, starting at 6:30 p.m. All of the boats that are decked out in Christmas decorations will line up near the Pineda Causeway and follow the Satellite Beach Police Boat Patrol down the Grand Canal.

Celebrate Christmas in Florida the right way; with friends and family by your side, a cup of eggnog and a waterfront view of the dozens of boats dazzled in stunning holiday decorations at this year’s Christmas Boat Parades in Brevard.

  1. Are there any restuarants where one can watch the 2016 Sat Bch Grand Canal boat parade? I called some restuarants and even they do not know!
    There is no current 2016 data that I can find any info on, other than where it begins

      It does not look like there are any restaurants right there on the projected path of the boat parade, unfortunately! It looks like the boats are going to do a loop around Lake Shepherd. Beef O’ Brady’s in Satellite Beach is located near there, but there’s no direct view of the lake. You can view the map of the projected path here to find a spot:
